María José Torres Santeli

María José Torres Santeli is a social specialist with experience in stakeholder engagement and negotiations, community relations, and the planning and implementation of development programs. At SRA, she has worked on a number of land access and resettlement programs in multiple sectors across Latin America and Africa.

Before joining SRA, María José worked in the oil and gas industry in Ecuador, where she co-created and co-implemented a CSR Program geared toward the development of Indigenous communities in the Amazon, as well as with the UN Global Compact in the UK.

María José has a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in Canada, and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford in the UK. Her dissertation at Oxford was on sustainable mineral development, focusing on Indigenous-owned mining operations. She speaks fluent Spanish and English.
