Manuela Thanos
Senior Consultant
Manuela is a social, resettlement and communications specialist. Effective in analysing and solving complex social issues in international settings, Manuela provides clients with up-to-date social performance solutions, with a particular focus on participatory stakeholder engagement and risk management. She has successfully applied her expertise to the planning and implementation of a variety of land access and resettlement projects, marked by a keen focus on addressing gender issues and vulnerabilities.
Manuela has worked in a number of sectors, including the energy, public infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, in more than 20 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. Her project responsibilities have included developing resettlement and livelihood restoration strategies, creating and implementing community investment plans, undertaking baseline studies and social impact assessments, delivering human rights risk assessments, and leading stakeholder engagement plans.
In addition to her native French, she speaks fluent English and Spanish. She holds a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility from the Escuela de Organización Industrial in Madrid, complemented by another Masters in Media, Information and Communication from the University Paris 2 Panthéon Assas.
