Liam Flanagan

Liam is a land acquisition and resettlement specialist with four years of experience in the planning and implementation of resettlement and livelihood restoration programmes across the infrastructure and mining sectors. He has worked throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia and Papua New Guinea, supporting projects across the full resettlement lifecycle and assisting clients in managing displacement impacts in accordance with international standards and industry best practice.
Liam enjoys being in the field and strongly emphasizes building genuine, trust-based relationships with affected communities and developing a deep understanding of local realities. Liam has a particular interest in supporting vulnerable households and ensuring displacement impacts are managed equitably and practically.
Liam holds an Honours Degree in International Relations from Stellenbosch University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from SIT Graduate Institute. He is based in South Africa.
