António Matos

António Matos is a social performance practitioner and engagement specialist with experience in the mining and oil and gas sectors, among others.  Working in line with international standards, António’s career comprises a range of remote and site-based assignments with a variety of multinational corporations. He has been responsible for developing and implementing a number of social management plans related to stakeholder engagement and grievance management, particularly in the context of resettlement and livelihood restoration processes. His experience also involves social impact assessments and due diligence work.

António has worked across Africa, Latin America and Southern Europe, as well as briefly in Asia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Social and Cultural Communication from the Catholic University of Portugal, and has completed a range of additional courses related to Human Rights, Sustainability Management, and Social Impact Assessment at universities across Europe. He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
