Stakeholder Engagement. Social Impact Assessment. Land Access & Resettlement. Livelihoods.

Extensive Practical Experience

We know clients require assistance from consultants who not only have experience writing reports and preparing action plans, but who have implemented projects on the ground.

Our personnel have managed projects from A-Z, from the assessment stage through consultations and negotiations, planning and implementation.

We know what it takes to meet best practice in a practical way that meets project objectives, whilst enabling impacts on communities to be addressed – we walk the talk.

International Experience

Our extensive international experience allows us to reflect on lessons learned and apply our experiences to the development of pragmatic and appropriate solutions, in accordance with project location and requirements, national laws and international standards.

Familiarity with and Commitment to International Best Practice

Our personnel are thoroughly familiar with the standards and requirements of the International Finance Corporation, Equator Principle Banks as well as other institutions like the EBRD.

We provide training to company corporate and operations managers and staff in the application of international standards and effective management of social risks.

Innovative Approaches

Our team has been at the forefront of developing new best practice approaches in social management and land access and resettlement. SRA brings this experience to projects and is committed to continuous innovation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Teamwork

We strongly believe in active stakeholder engagement throughout the project process (internally and externally), and believe that the best, most cost effective and sustainable solutions come from an approach that fully engages all stakeholders.

Tailor-made Solutions

SRA brings its extensive experience to bear on all its projects, but does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We know that each project has unique characteristics that must be fully understood in order to develop appropriate solutions.

Focus on Capacity-Building of Local Teams

SRA generally works in mixed client / consultant teams to plan and implement projects.

This ensures that the client’s social team fully understands and owns the process and their capacity is built to manage issues.

Our personnel have worked extensively worldwide, from Armenia to Zambia, for clients including the World Bank Group, EBRD, ICMM, KfW, DEG, Newmont, Newcrest, Gold Fields, Iamgold, Rio Tinto, Shell, BG, and Exxon Mobil to name a few. SRA has been Carbon Neutral since 2017

Since the foundation of the Firm, SRA has been committed to reducing emissions where possible, through a company environmental policy that seeks to reduce unnecessary travel and energy use, and employing more environmentally efficient work practices.

Since 2016, we have been working with Carbon Footprint Ltd to reduce and offset all of our emissions, including travel related emissions.

Since 2017 we have offset 384 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.  This has been achieved by supporting carbon reduction projects in some of the countries where we work, including Borehole Rehabilitation Projects in Uganda, Efficient Cookstove Programs in Kenya and Uganda, the Kocaeli Landfill Gas to Electricity Project in Turkey, and preventing deforestation through the Amazon REDD Project. Such carbon offsets have the added benefit of contributing to the health and development of the communities where we work.

Since September 2017, SRA is pleased to have achieved and held certified carbon neutral status.
